Where hope begins to grow
Hope is something we build together. It’s not about wishful thinking but rather the quiet belief that feeling better is possible.
If hope feels miles away for you now, that is completely ok.
You don’t have to carry it all on your own.
My aim is to walk alongside you, helping you unpack whatever is weighing you down and, slowly, finding a way forward. Taking that first step to seek support is a powerful hopeful act in itself.
Whatever difficulties you are facing I am here to listen to you with empathy, warmth, compassion, and acceptance.
I provide a safe space for you to share and explore whatever you need without judgment. I am an integrative counsellor and utilise a relational approach which emphasises the importance of the therapeutic relationship, recognising that everyone is searching for love and acceptance and has a basic need for positive interpersonal connection.
I fully believe in the need for hope in the counselling process, and how essential a compassionate therapeutic relationship is in instilling and maintaining hope. My role as a counsellor is not to focus on technique and interventions, but rather to be someone who sits alongside, supporting and nurturing you on your journey as we co-create and do hope together, because when people feel understood and responded to, hope begins to replace despair.
I work with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bullying, abuse, coercive relationships, grief, and trauma. You don’t need to have a clear label for what you’re experiencing — if something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to manage alone, we can explore it together at your pace.
My Approach:
About Me:
I believe everyone should have the opportunity to be listened to and understood in their pain. I see each person as the author of their own journey, and my role is to walk beside them, supporting and nurturing them as they move forward.
I have a particular interest in Christianity, faith and spiritual issues.
My training has equipped me to work within the interface of counselling and spirituality, including ethical issues, spiritual abuse, forgiveness, guilt, shame, depression/spiritual affliction, identity, loss and change.
I respect that every client brings their own beliefs and values, or may choose not to hold any, and I affirm these rights for all people, whatever their age, disability, or sexual orientation.
